Comments/Information/Identification: Found on a beach when visiting Rota, Northern Mariana Islands. The beach was littered with many fragments of pottery. This piece most likely ended up there from a rusty modern shipwreck which was just off shore. However, Rota is also the site of much older shipwrecks going back to the 16th c. Fragment is 8cm across and weighs 63g and quite thick. It was possibly the rim of a heavy bowl.
